Convert your tremolo bridge into a hardtail.
May we present to you, the
Hi,
when i bought my first guitar with a tremolo, i had a lot of fun playing around with it.
But after some time, i wanted to do double stops and bendings without all the other strings going out of tune. Another problem for me was resting my hand on the bridge. The whole guitar was slightly out of tune when doing that. The list goes on…
So i did my research on existing solutions, but could just not find one fitting my expectations and needs.
Long story short: I sat down and came up with my own solution!
CNC milled from a solid block of 6061 aluminum and bead blasted surface finish, it is easy on the eyes and sturdy as a rock. The locking screws and self locking nuts are made from V2A stainless steel. No compromises!
And all this with a weight of only around 70 grams.
After sharing my solution in the community, it caught quite some attention. So me and a couple of friends decided to get the Tremolo Deadlock out there to everyone who wants one.
That’s where we stand right now.
If you have questions, don’t hesitate and click on the little envelope on the left.
Cheers,
Daniel
It locks the tremolo block down and connects it to the guitars body, thus improve sustain and overall conformity of the sound.
No additional holes need to be drilled or the guitar body modified. The Tremolo Deadlock uses the screws from your current spring clamp to connect to the body.
The Tremolo Deadlock can be installed within a few minutes and can be swapped back for the tremolo spings as required.
The Tremolo Deadlock is designed and engineered in germany, by us. The final assembly is done here in germany, also by us. Before we send anything to a customer, we carry out a comprehensive quality check.
This entire project thrives on feedback from the community. Don’t hesitate to send feedback and ideas.
In a nutshell, we are. 🙂

Currently there are two sizes available. Size M and Size S. The main difference is the total lenght of the device.
Please check your guitar before buying.
To make absolutely sure, you can download these drawings and print them in 100% scale.

The pictures show the waveform of the tone of the lower E string. The Signal was captured with Audacity through an MOTU M4. The Guitar used is a ESP LTD F Black Metal. Bear in mind that we are not audio engineers.
Despite the difference in intensity, the light blue part (RMS value) shows the smoother and more uniform sound with the Tremolo Deadlock installed.
Step 1
Measure the distance of the tremolo block to the right side of the body and unsolder the ground wire from the spring claw (you could cut it, but we don’t recommend that).
Step 2
Loosen the spring clamp and remove the springs. Then remove the clamp entirely.
Step 3
Match the non angled locking screws (right side) of the Tremolo Deadlock to the measured distance of the tremolo block from step 1.
Step 4
Install the Tremolo Deadlock by screwing the spring clamp screws all the way in.
Step 5
Lock the tremolo block by tightening the angled lock screws (left side) all the way and securing them with the nuts.
Step 6
Attach the ring terminal to the ground cable and use the screw in the center of the Tremolo Deadlock to connect it.
You’re done!
